1. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike many web platforms, this academic converter is intentionally built without user accounts, forms, or data profiling mechanisms. Specifically, we do not collect or store:
- Your name, email address, physical address, or phone number
- Student identification numbers, roll numbers, or university enrollment records
- Login credentials, passwords, or social authentication tokens
- Payment information, credit card details, or banking records (all tools are 100% free)
- Uploaded transcripts, PDFs, or scanned documents (we do not offer or accept file uploads)
2. How Your Calculations Are Processed
When you enter numbers into our CGPA to Percentage, Percentage to CGPA, or CGPA to Marks tools, the mathematical formulas (such as the CBSE 9.5 multiplier, VTU offset, or direct 10-scale equations) execute entirely within your browser runtime via client-side JavaScript.
Technical Note: Typing numbers into our input fields does not trigger network API requests. If you disconnect your computer from the internet after loading the page, the calculator continues to function completely because the logic runs offline in your web browser.
3. Browser Local Storage (localStorage)
We utilize your browser's built-in localStorage API for two specific, user-convenience features:
- Theme Preference (
theme): Remembers whether you prefer Light Mode or Dark Mode between browsing sessions so your eyes are not strained on subsequent visits. - Recent Calculation History (
cgpa_calc_history): Stores up to your last five calculation entries directly on your computer so you can review recent calculations without re-typing them.
This data never leaves your device. It is not shared, synced, or transmitted to any server. You can remove all saved calculations at any time by clicking the "Clear History" button inside the calculator interface.
5. Web Hosting & Technical Server Logs
When your browser requests files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, icons) from our hosting servers or Content Delivery Network (CDN), standard automated access logs may be generated. These logs typically record:
- Your Internet Protocol (IP) address
- Browser type, operating system, and user-agent string
- Referring webpage URL
- Date, time, and specific static asset requested
These technical server logs are used solely by hosting infrastructure to deliver web pages, defend against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, detect server errors, and maintain network reliability. We do not correlate server logs with individual user identities.
6. Third-Party Websites & External References
Our guides and institutional reference tables contain hyperlinks to external educational websites, such as official university portals, regulatory gazettes, and examination boards. We provide these links strictly for your reference and verification.
We have no control over the privacy practices, content, or cookie policies of third-party domains. When you click an external link, you are subject to that external website's terms and privacy policy.
7. Children's Privacy
Our tools are designed for general academic reference and are safe for students of all ages. Because we do not request or store any personal information, we do not knowingly solicit, collect, or process personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local regulations).
8. Your Rights & Data Controls
Since we do not maintain a database of personal accounts, there are no user profiles to delete or export from our servers. You maintain total control over any data residing on your computer:
- Clear Calculator History: Click the "Clear History" button located directly beneath the calculator results card.
- Clear Browser Storage: In your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), navigate to "Privacy & Security" > "Clear Browsing Data" > select "Cookies and Site Data" to remove all locally stored themes and calculation histories.
- Private / Incognito Browsing: Using Private Browsing mode ensures all local storage is wiped automatically the moment you close your browser window.
9. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our tools, updates to hosting infrastructure, or changes in legal regulations. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
