Why does my percentage differ between CBSE and engineering formulas?
Different educational boards and university councils utilize different mathematical methodologies:
- CBSE & Central Universities: Multiply CGPA by 9.5 because historical data showed that students scoring a 10.0 CGPA typically achieved an aggregate score between 91% and 100% (midpoint 95%).
- Technical Boards (VTU, MAKAUT): Prescribe the linear offset formula
(CGPA - 0.75) × 10. Under this rule, an 8.0 CGPA equals 72.5%, whereas under CBSE it equals 76.0%. - Direct Scale (Anna University, Autonomous Colleges): Multiply CGPA directly by 10.0.
Always check the reverse of your official semester grade card before submitting applications.
How do I clear my stored calculation history?
All calculation history is stored exclusively on your device using browser localStorage. To clear it:
- Go to any calculator page (e.g., CGPA to Percentage).
- Scroll down to the "Recent Calculations" panel.
- Click the "Clear History" button. All saved entries will be permanently erased from your browser.
Can this website issue an official conversion certificate?
No. This website is an independent educational utility designed for student convenience and preliminary estimation. Government employers (such as UPSC, SSC, IBPS, PSU recruitment) and international graduate admissions offices strictly require an official certificate issued, signed, and stamped by your university registrar, controller of examinations, or college principal.
